House Arrest

House Arrest was presented in 2021 at FreeForm Art Space in Santa Fe, NM. The collection of works presented reflect on the feelings of isolation and confinement experienced during the pandemic, thus the title: House Arrest.

Sculptures are made of familiar household objects: ordinary furniture, lamps, tables and chairs that have be deconstructed into estranged forms and structures. Some appear to disappear into a wall, others balance perilously on a tabletop or seem to have collapsed onto the floor.

Seclusion was constructed from door hardware and Japanese paper. It serves as a focal point between concepts of inside and outside, internal and external. The perforated black paper between exterior and interior access handles suggests a fragile relationship with the outside world and also serves as a metaphor for access to the past
